For INSTAGAYS, we had fun looking through vintage photos of queer life on Fire Island, which is where we shot. We wanted to feel the heat as much as possible - for our subjects to be roasting in sun and sweat. In the evenings, the world became both shadowy and colorful - obscuring the danger in both the faces of our subjects and corners of the spaces.
