For GIANNA, we looked to 70s horror films such as CARRIE and DEEP RED for inspiration, in search of a way to meld the elements of suspense with comedy. I relied on advice from David Mullen, the cinematographer of THE LOVE WITCH, in order to stay faithful to the tools ad techniques of the 70s, but with a modern twist.
